The Institute established in 1963 with 8 Trades & Total 216 Sanction Seats in Bharuch and shifted to Ankleshwar in 1966. Now its running with 36 Trades & 2952 Sanction Seats. It covers 21 Acres of land with 10952 Square Meters of construction area having Administrator Building, Workshops, Staff Quarters and Hostel.

The institute is also working as "Nodal Institute" for Bharuch and Narmada District.

Center of excellence will focus on enhancing the skill and careers of those already in work. Enhancing the employability of new entrance to the labor market.It will enable development, maintenance and delivery of high quality training across a range of new and traditional occupation.
